Snack-e-snack time with Foofa!

Ok, for all of you out there who don't know who or what this little pink thing is, meet Foofa! I made this cake for a sweet little girl named Layla who is obsessed with Oofa (as she calls her). Foofa is one of the characters on a show called Yo! Gabba Gabba. Our kids go crazy over this show and I can understand why. It is just goofy! The first time I saw this show, I thought who ever made it had to be on some kind of hallucinogen! Now after watching it many times now, I really like it. HA! So anyway enough about the show..but all of you should try to watch it atleast once!! hehe.

This is a devil's food cake with buttercream and Foofa is made from fondant. I think Layla really like it!

First time with Fondant!

This lovely cake was for my sweet little girl, Madison's, 5th birthday. She wanted a princess cake and I was trying to think of what i could do to make it really special for her. I finally decided I was ready to just go for it and try fondant. Let me tell you..I am so glad I did! It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be.
The whole thing was edible except for the crown. I found some really neat stuff at a local store that has all kind of baking supplies. It's called Stefanie's Sweet's and I just love it there! I found those little edible pearls and some luster dust to make some stuff sparkle. I was super excited with the result after much trouble from my stubborn bow..which ended up lovely..don't ya think? The bottom tier of this cake is a 9 inch, 3 layer devil's food cake iced with buttercream. The top tier is a 2 layer, 6 inch white cake and that was also iced with a nice fluffy buttercream..yumm!
Happy 5th Birthday Madonna Key..hehe! (she decided that is what she wants to be called now)

Snickerdoodles!

Just thought I would give you all something to drool over=) I made these to add to some goody bags that I made for my cousin's baby shower. For these bags I made chocolate chip, sugar, chocolate white chip, peanut butter blossoms, Russian tea cakes and of course these yummy snickerdoodles. I ended up with over 600 cookies to stuff 60 bags with! They ended up turning out really cute. I wish I had taken a picture of them.
